This Himalayan trek gives you the opportunity of exploring a unique blend of Nepalese and Tibetan culture along with numerous monasteries, and small settlements giving you a clear insight into the lifestyle on this side around the Dhaulagiri and the Tibetan Plateau, Upper Dolpo as you camp along the way. This trek takes you through rural areas as we walk past beautiful, grazing pastures, bridges, and epic mountain backdrop, steep gorges, meadows, dense pine, and cedar forests, valleys, and streams while offering us astonishing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Kagmara Peak, and the three major high passes Kang La, Saldang La, and Jeng La. In this trek, you will explore the heavenly Phoksundo Lake where you will also be camping, filling you with tranquility and peace.
After your arrival in Kathmandu valley, where HATT representatives will be giving you a warm welcome. Then our representative will transfer you to our hotel where will be assisting you to check in the hotel. Later that day after you had some rest, you will be briefed about your tour.
Today after our breakfast we will head out to explore the Kathmandu valley .within the valley itself there are many of the UNESCO world heritage sites such as Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Monkey Temple, and Buddhist Shrine. Having its cultural and historical importance. we will be guided by our guide throughout the day as we explore all the streets, communities understanding Nepalese culture, tradition, lifestyle .later in the evening after our tour we head back to our hotel.
After having our breakfast we head towards Nepalgunj From Kathmandu via bus or a flight .where our guide will be meeting us and guide us to our hotel. A town situated in the western part of Terai is a major transport hub for western, mid-western, and far-western regions of Nepal and shares the border with India. Overnight stay will be at a hotel or lodge
Today after having our breakfast we head towards the airport to take 35 minutes long flight to Juphal. After reaching juphal we officially start our trek towards Dunai. The trail is easy and also has few jeeps running to and from. The trail descends down to Kalagauda .further, we cross Thuli Bheri River taking the trail along riverside taking us through pass Roop Ghar, water mill, and finally reach the Dunai (2150m) a small town and also the headquarter of the district. Around Dunai we can visit the Bon Stupa from where we can have the view of the whole town and another village, upper Dunai and a school the very first English medium school, Central Buddhist monastery and. Overnight in Dunai
Today’s trek Begins as we continue on the trails which takes us across suspension bridges, walnut groves, Dhera, and Rahagaun village along with the mesmerizing view of the Kagamara peak. Further, as we head towards Ankhe, hiking through the dense jungle before reaching Ankhe. Overnight in Ankhe.
After having our breakfast we resume our trek continuing on the trail .in the initial phase of our hike the trail ascends then gradually descends taking us through a wooded riverbank. Further, as we trek walking past many of the streams along the route and through lush forest .before we reach a cliff from where the trail starts descending again to the river bank. As we Trek further we reach Sulighat. Overnight in Sulighat.
Continuing along the trail we head towards Phoksundo. the trail takes us through the Pungmo river, bridges, and taking us along the western bank of Pungmo Khola. further, as we Hike through the cedar forest before reaching Palam village. from here the trail moves along a ridge which offers us breathtaking views of Phoksundo Lake and a waterfall on its backdrop. As we cherish these views we continue on the trail that takes us through birch forests to Upper Phoksundo Khola and to Ringo village. A small settlement of mud-plastered chortens and mani walls. After a short trek, we reach Phoksundo Lake and overnight stay here.
As we are above 3600 m and with sudden elevation of height there are risks of altitude sickness hence for you and the team’s safety we will be resting today for acclimatization. Today we will be exploring the Ringmo Village , a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery also around hoksundo Lake. We get an oppourtInteract with the only exploring the area but also a chane to interacte with the local learning about their lifestyle ,culture and tradition.overnight here.
After having our lunch we begin our trek. The trail runs along a rocky ledge on the western bank of the lake and taking us through woods. Before we reach the west edge of the lake as we Trek past lush meadows opening into a flood plain. Further after crossing a river . we reach Phoksundo Khola. Overnight at Phoksundo Khola.
Today we will trek along a trail that will take us through the glacial valley, past Phoksundo Khola and many of the streams, bridges, and meadows. Further, the trail ascends up to a steep ravine, followed by a tough climb towards the Kang-La pass. After reaching we set up our camp near ‘Snowfield’s camp’ and spend the night here.
Early in the morning, we head towards Shey Gompa. The trail from here on is tougher than the other days as we ascend up to the pass. As we reach the top from where it offers us a breathtaking view of the valley. Further, as we pass through the pass the trails start descending as it meanders beside rivers and meadows. We finally reach the Shey Gompa after we Cross a log bridge. Overnight at Shey Gompa.
After our treacherous pass, today we will be resting and acclimatizing at Shey Gompa. Today we get the opportunity to explore Buddhist culture and the Tibetan lifestyle around Shey Gompa. Overnight at Shey Gompa.
Today after having our breakfast we head towards Namduna. The trail takes us through juniper trees as we proceed towards a grey stone canyon .further the trail meanders over rocks before reaching the top of Saldang La pass. From here the trail Descends towards the north before we reach Namduna Gaun here we will be visiting the Namgung monastery, from where it offers us a breathtaking backdrop of a cliff. Overnight stay at Namduna Gaun.
Today’s trail ascends taking us through dusty and old mountains. As we trek through some breathtaking landscapes of Saldang village on a plateau, sitting right above the Namga Khola stream. Further, as we continue on the trail we reach the largest village of inner Doplo- Saldang. Spend the night in this village.
Today after having our breakfast we head towards Yangze Gompa. The trail takes us across a tributary of the Panzan River and Nagaon Khola River .further the trail meanders up and down past Marang and Ki village. Move towards the east and we reach Yangze Gompa where we can visit an old Bon-Po monastery. Overnight stay in Yangze Gompa.
After having our breakfast we head towards Sibu. We continue on our previous trail as we retrace our path back to Saldang, taking us across rivers, stupa, terraced fields, mani stones, and a Chaiba Monastery. Further continuing our trek we pass the Namdo Village and before reaching Sibu, Where we will be setting our camp. Overnight at Sibu.
Today we head towards Jeng-la Phedi the trail takes runs along the Nam Khong Khola and taking us past caravans as we head towards the east to a junction of two streams from here the trail descends to a grazing field below Jeng La pass. Where we will set up our camp.
Early in the morning, we resume our trek. The trail we will be taking ascends to the top of Jeng la pass from where we are offered a mesmerizing view of the Dhaulagiri range from the top. Further, as we follow the trail it descends down to Tarap valley and then it takes us to Tarap Chu River where we will be setting up a camp around the Tokyu monastery. Overnight stay here.
After having our breakfast, we continue our Trek on the trail that descends downhill taking us through a plain valley with lush green patches. Further, as we continue our trek through a marshy area before reaching Dho Tarap. Overnight at Dho Tarap.
As we have trekked for a long time today we will be making a stop here at Dho Tarap. Taking this opportunity u can also go out to Explore villages, Meet with the locals and visit Buddhist Gompa in the nearby location. Spend the night at Dho Tarap.
After a day of rest, we resume our Trek, the trail descends downwards to a wide valley that narrows down into a gorge. Further, as we move on we pass through juniper, wild bushes, and herds of blue sheep before reaching a junction of Tarap Chu and Lang Khola .by here we set up our camp and stay for the night.
After our breakfast, we commence our trek as we follow the trail which descends down to the gorge of the Tarap River takings us through yak pastures, deep gorge, and bridges .before reaching our campsite along Tarap Khola at Khanigaon. Overnight at Khanigaon.
Today the trail leads us to Lalberi village, further as we continue our trek towards Tarakot which takes us through the lush forest then Descends into a gorge. From here the trail runs along the river. Finally, after we reach Tarakot. Where we will be visiting Sandul Gompa. Today we will be Camping along the banks of the Tarap Chu River and spend the night in Tarakot.
After breakfast, we head towards Dunai on the trail which takes us behind the Bheri River, and then after crossing a bridge near Lawan village we reach Byas Gadi, from here the trek is easier till we reach Locha Khola further after crossing Locha Khola we reach Dunai. Overnight at Dunai.
Today we will be hiking our last leg of the trekking tour of the Dolpo region Today we leave Dunai after having our breakfast. The trail runs alongside Bheri river to Kalagawda and then the trail ascends towards Juphal. Further, as we continue we reach Juphal. Overnight stay in guesthouse or tea house.
Today we take a flight back to Nepalgunj From Juphal. After we reach Nepalgunj airport we wait some time for our flight connection for the flight to Kathmandu. After we reach Kathmandu where our representative will be waiting for our arrival. to transfers us to our hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
Today after having your breakfast we will have the rest of the day as leisure time .you may do as your wish if it’s to rest or explore the city of Kathmandu. Later in the evening, we will be going out to have a typical Nepali farewell dinner.
Today is the last day of our grant Dolpo region trek . After having your breakfast our representative will be dropping you off at your desired location or to the airport.

Dolpo trek is an isolated nook of Nepal where time seems to be frozen in the era of traditional Tibetan culture, due to the lack of modern infrastructures in this region.
