Sunday – Arrival in Kathmandu
Monday – Orientation session by the local coordinator covering topic areas; such
as safety, culture, language, places to visit, behavior, food, and more. This will be followed by a visit to the placement facility in the company of the local coordinator to get introduced to the placement and the Inmates.
Tuesday to Friday – Volunteer work
Breakfast – breakfast will be provided at the volunteer house/ with the host family
Volunteer at placement – 10 AM to 3 PM
Lunch – Meals provided at school (placement),
Dinner – 07:00 pm
Weekends – Free to explore the city (Lunch is not provided on Fri/Sat/Sunday)
Please Note: -An application fee of $199 is charged over and above the program fee as an application payment. (A 4% international banking fee is charged at the time of payment)
Volunteer requirements
Living
As you lend your helping hand to serve the common humanity, we will make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Accommodation is provided on a shared basis in Kathmandu. In case of no availability of space at the volunteer home, the volunteers are to be provided accommodation at a guest house or with a local host family. All accommodations will have basic needs such as water, electricity and hot showers for winters and Wi-Fi is also available.
Airport Transfer
Volunteers will be picked up and dropped off after their volunteering work at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by a member of the local coordinating staff. Those volunteers who will be already in Nepal will be met by the staff at a designated meeting point decided beforehand.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided on a shared basis in Kathmandu. In case of no availability of space at the volunteer home, the volunteers are to be provided accommodation at a guest house or with a local host family. All accommodations will have basic needs such as water, electricity and hot showers for winters and Wi-Fi is also available.
Orientation
An orientation and briefing will be provided by your local program coordinator. We cover areas like culture, greetings, locations, transportation, etc. Start your volunteering experience by taking the 1 week Language Culture Orientation week in Kathmandu.
Meals
Nepalese meals will be provided depending on individual’s work schedules. If you have any special dietary requirements, you can let us know in advance.
During your Free Time
On the weekends volunteers usually head out to Chitwan National Park to do a Safari trip or to the beautiful town of Pokhara. On the weekdays, evenings are free and volunteers usually hang out at Thamel which is a famous backpacking touristy area with numerous cafes and restaurants, or explore some of the most famous attractions of Kathmandu.
