Jomsom Muktinath Trek is a popular trek to a holy temple called Muktinath. To reach here you have to catch a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. Then the trek begins to Muktinath. You can visit this temple at the foot of Thorong La pass by starting the trek to the remote villages of Kagbeni and seeing the apple orchards on the way with ChhairoGompa in Marpha village.
The trekking route takes you to the natural hot water spring of Tatopani and Ghorepani villages inhabited by Magars of Nepal. Along the route to Muktinath temple, you come to scenic places that have deep valleys, mountains and terrains, and jungle paths. The trek continues up to Ghorepani and a nearby secular spot at Poonhill. This is the hilltop that showcases the Annapurna Mountain range and gives the watchers a miraculous view of the snowy peaks of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna 2 and 3, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Tukuche, Lamjunghimal peaks. The trek brings you towards the deepest water gorge called Kali Gandaki and towards Ghasa, Marpha, Kagbeni to Muktinath. It is a holy spot visited by Hindus and Buddhist devotees. Muktinath god is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Hindus call it “ MuktiKshetra” while Buddhists call it ChumigGyatsa. This temple is built in Tibetan style and there are Lord Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, and Kali idols. This place is mainly crowded on the day of the Janai Purnima festival in Nepal. There are 108water spouts running near the temple. Nearby is the Jwala Mai temple.
This trek makes you completely submerged with nature’s biodiversity. The entire landscape, the holy temple, and the worshipper’s customs make this a spiritual journey in Nepal. The best months for taking the Jomsom and Muktinath trek are February to June or between September to December. Monsoon and winter can be avoided.
As you arrive at the Tribhuvan international airport, where you will greeted by our representative who will be guiding you to our hotel. Later in the evening after you check-in and get refreshed, than our Tour leader will take you for visit of Thamel (Touristic Hub), you may see and enjoy evening meal around and head back to the hotel where we will be staying overnight.
Today after having Breakfast we start exploring the kathmandu valley. With guide we head towards different sites having historical and cultural importance and are also enlisted in the world heritage sites such as patan durbar square ,Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, after a long day of exploring the valley we head back to our hotel where we will be staying for the night.
Today we take a bus or flight as per the itinerary to Pokhara and drive if we take a bush it will take around 5-7 hours through winding countryside road through lush green hills and if we will be taking a flight to Pokhara it will take 45 to 60 minutes. as we reach Pokhara we head towards Nayapul where we will start our trek. As we ascend through forest trails on the cliff’s side and give us some spectacular views of mountains and paddy fields, crossing Modi Khola River, we finally arrive at Tikhedhunga. Where we will be staying overnight.
After having our breakfast we resume our trek as we cross Burundi Khola and ascend to Ghorepani. We reach Magar settlement called Ulleri and as we further ascend to reach Ghorepani. Overnight in Ghorepani.
After having our breakfast we continue our trek towards Tatopani, along the way we cross Sikha village and descends through GharKhola village crossing a suspension bridge to arrive at Tatopani. Overnight in Tatopani.
The trail ascends gradually on the path of Kali Gandaki river then crossing a suspension bridge it passes through RupseChhahara, and up to a green village called Ghasa in the lower Gandaki region. Overnight in Ghasa.
The trail ascends to the forest of Letikhola and continues on the east of the stream and arrives at Larjung village. Then passing by apple orchards and vegetable farms we come to Marpha and also visit ChhairoGompa. Overnight in Marpha
Today following remote trails from Marpha we ascend on a ridge to Jomsom village and up the Kali Gandaki river that has the deepest gorge in the world we pass the Eklebatti village and arrive Kagbeni. It also offers views of Mountain peaks like Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche peaks. Overnight in Kagbeni.
Today after having our breakfast we start our trek from Kag Beni towards Muktinath as we head upstream of Kaligandakiriver which joins the direct path leading to Khingar. Then passing over a deserted scene you arrive at Jajarkot .as we further continue our trek we reach Muktinath.Overnight in Muktinath.
Today you visit the Muktinath temple which is a sacred religious spot and see the close surroundings. You can see the water spouts flowing nearby and then head back to Jomsom. Overnight in Jomsom village.
After having our breakfast we take a flight From Jomsom airport to Pokhara .during the flight we can get views of the Himalayan ranges. After we reach Pokhara .we check-in the hotel. after refreshing up we can spend the day by doing activities like boating at Phewa Lake. Overnight in Pokhara.
Today we will be heading back to the Kathmandu valley on a tourist bus .to Kathmandu. Which is approximately 200 KM to Kathmandu .we enjoy the winding countryside roads between lush green hills. As we reach Kathmandu valley we check in our hotel and after we refresh ourselves we will be going out to have dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu with a farewell program.
Today is the last day of our trek, after having our breakfast we head towards the airport according to the flight schedule.
