Kailash Tour via Simikot is a journey to Mt. Kailash where we can experience trekking to the western parts of Nepal which is a remote place and untouched by development before entering Tibet you can experience what is a true Nepali lifestyle, food, and struggles.
The tour starts with our arrival in Kathmandu valley and spending a day resting and preparing for the trip and the next day we take a flight to Nepalgunj, a city in the western Terai plains of Nepal. On this tour, we will be touring ancient pilgrimage routes and trade links. We will also be visiting Tibet, Mt. Kailash, and a tour of Mansarovar Lake both a great natural, cultural and religious significance. The Kailash Tour via Simikot ends in Lhasa .this tour is a great opportunity of exploring new cultural traditions and lifestyles of eastern civilizations.

After you arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu where our representative will be waiting for your arrival and transfer you to the hotel. After you check-in, you will be briefed about the tour, and later In the evening, a welcome dinner will be hosted by us where for the great days ahead in your tour with us.
Today the whole day you will have leisure time while our team will be preparing and rechecking your tour and important documents required for the tour.
After our breakfast we have a short excursion in Kathmandu, then we take our flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj which is located in Western Nepal near the Nepal-India border which is also the gateway to Simikot, Humla. The town full of diverse cultures of Nepal and with a different lifestyle. In Nepalgunj, we will be visiting local markets, mini-zoo, and nearby villages. We stay Overnight in Nepalgunj.
Today,we take a 40-minute long flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot .during our flight if the weather favors us then we can have a breathtaking view of the mystic mountain. After, we land at Simikot Where we will be having our lunch, and here is where we will also be registering for the permit. From Simikot, we start our trek to the village of Tuling by walking through jungles and villages along the Karnali River towards Dharapori where we will be staying Overnight.
After our breakfast, we resume our trek on the trail alongside the Karnali River which takes us through the fields of barley, buckwheat, rice and potatoes, and two hot springs near Kermi where we can also relax our body. We can also visit ancient Buddhist monasteries close to Kermi in Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa with Overnight in Kermi.
After breakfast, we again resume our trek and cross a suspension bridge over the Salli River. From where we can get a beautiful view of the pine trees and of the mighty Karnali River. We will also be visiting the remote Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery and stay Overnight at Yalbang.
The trail takes us above the Karnali River. As we ascend further, the scenery starts to change into pine trees and rocky hills. After we reach Tumkot, we visit Dhungkar Choezom Monastery, one of the most important Sakya monasteries in the Tibetan region. Overnight in Tumkot.
Today after breakfast we continue our trek where today our trail is relatively easier that takes us above the Karnali River. After walking a few miles the vegetation and landscape gradually start changing .we will be staying Overnight in Yari.
Today after breakfast, we will be resuming our trek through the Nara La pass (4,620m). After crossing the pass we will observe excellent views of the beautiful Tibetan plateaus and Yari Village. From here on, we descend until Hilsa, a border town a dropping point of the pilgrims on their journey to the sacred Mt. Kailash by helicopter. Overnight in Hilsa.Day 10: Hilsa to Purang (3,772m/12,375ft) After breakfast,we walk across the Friendship Bridge at Hilsa where the Chinese officials will check our permits and passports. We will also meet our Tibetan guide and then ascend from Hilsa to Purang where we walking past Rinzin Zangpo Gompa and Kangje Village along the way. In Purang, we will be visiting Purang Gompa exploring the unique Buddhist frescoes of the 12th century. We will be staying Overnight in Purang.
Afte r breakfast we walk across the Friendship Bridge at Hilsa where the Chinese officials will check our permits and passports. We will also meet our Tibetan guide and then ascend from Hilsa to Purang where we walking past Rinzin Zangpo Gompa and Kangje Village along the way. In Purang, we will be visiting Purang Gompa exploring the unique Buddhist frescoes of the 12th century. We will be staying Overnight in Purang.
After our breakfast, we head towards the Montse where we will come across Rakshas and Mansarover lakes. After reaching Montse, we will rest for a while then visit Tirtapuri at (4510m) After touring Tirtapuri we return back to Monste where we will spend the night.
After having our breakfast we head towards Garuda valley from Montse that takes around 2 hours to reach the Garuda Valley which lies on the southwest of Mt. Kailash. The valley is known to have a mysterious cave. After touring the amazing valley we move to Darchen, a small town situated in front of the sacred Mount Kailash where we will spend our night.
Today, we begin our Kora of Mt. Kailash. We start our hike from Darchen to dirapuk which will take around six-hour through the valley with walls of red rock, through Shershong and We further cross a bridge leading to Chhuku Gompa. then The trail leads to Dirapuk from where we can absorb the north face of Mt. Kailash and spend the night.
Today is the most difficult section of our trek where we will cross the Drolma-la Pass at 5,750m/19,910ft. filled with five-colored praying flags. From Drolma-la Pass, we descend to Dzutul-puk where we will be staying for the night and we also come across the incredible Thugje Zinbu (Lake of Compassion) and ancient meditative caves on the way to Dzutul-puk.
We gradually wind out of the valley towards Barka plain. After completing the Kora of Mount Kailash, we drive for 2 hours to Mansarovar Lake which holds religious significance for both Hindus and Buddhists. we spend Overnight in Mansarovar.
Today will be visiting the majestic Mansarovar Lake having a circumference of 90 km which makes it one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world. It’s believed that the Kora of Mount Kailash is completed only after a dip in the lake with a drink of its holy water and said to relieve one from the sins of a hundred lives. We drive around Mansarovar by Jeep, and if we have time we will also visit Chui Gompa. We stay Overnight in Mansarovar.
Today after breakfast, we start our long drive from Mansarovar to Saga .while on the way we will come across the sacred historic Chiu Monastery, Hor Quo, drive across the Mayum La pass (5,200m). and While we are passing through the pass we will have a glimpse of small towns. Overnight in Saga.
After our breakfast, we travel From Saga to Shigatse via Latse. Our trail takes us along the Tsangpo River. Upon reaching Shigatse, where we refresh ourselves and later we visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery And with Overnight in Shigatse.
After breakfast, we drive towards Lhasa. On the way, we will be visiting Shalu Monastery known for its beautiful and ancient mural paintings. After the tour, we continue our drive towards Lhasa while On the way, we come across the Karo La Pass (5,045m), the Khamba La Pass (4,794m) where halt to savor the beauty of the Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake, and the beautiful Nazin Kang Sang glacier (7,252m). we will be staying Overnight in Lhasa
Our grand tours end today. After having our breakfast we will be dropped off at the airport before 3 hours than of our flight schedule.
