FAQs
  • No, Surya Peak (5145 m) is a non-technical trekking peak, meaning you don’t need climbing gear or mountaineering skills. However, it’s a high-altitude hike, so good fitness and acclimatisation are important.

  • Yes! If you have more time, you can extend your itinerary to explore Langtang Valley, which lies to the east of Syabrubesi. It’s a great combination for those wanting both cultural villages and alpine lake scenery.

  • Absolutely. If you’d like more time to explore the area, including Surya Kunda and nearby lakes, you can add an extra night at Gosaikunda. Let us know in advance, and we’ll customize the itinerary for you.

  • Mobile signal is available in some lower areas like Syabrubesi and Dhunche. Around Lauribina and Gosaikunda, signal is weak or non-existent. Some tea houses offer paid Wi-Fi, but it’s not reliable.

  • You’ll stay in tea houses (local lodges) with twin-sharing rooms and basic bedding. Rooms are simple, and toilets are often shared. In higher altitude areas, electricity and hot showers may cost extra.

  • Unlike Everest or Annapurna routes, the Langtang and Gosaikunda trail is less crowded, especially in non-festival months. You’ll likely encounter more local pilgrims than foreign tourists during Janai Purnima (August).

  • Yes, vegetarian meals are widely available along the trail. Vegan options are possible too, but choices are limited in higher elevations, so carrying a few snacks is a good idea.

  • You should not drink tap or stream water directly. Bring water purification tablets, filters, or use boiled water provided by lodges (may charge a small fee).
