Useful Info

Passport & Visa

All travellers (except Indian nationals) require a Nepal visa, which can be obtained on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or online via Nepal’s Department of Immigration. Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking (up to 5,600m), emergency evacuation, trip cancellations, and medical costs is mandatory. Please carry a copy of your policy.

Flight to Lukla

Depending on the season and air traffic, you may fly to Lukla directly from Kathmandu, or you may be required to drive to Ramechhap (Manthali Airport) early in the morning (approx. 4–5 hrs) for your Lukla flight. We will update you based on the latest regulations.

Altitude Sickness

This trek reaches elevations above 5,000m, so acclimatisation is key. Our itinerary includes proper rest days, but you should be aware of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) symptoms. Stay hydrated, walk slowly, and notify your guide if you feel unwell.

Wi-Fi & Charging

Wi-Fi and charging facilities are available in most teahouses, but may require an extra fee. It’s recommended to carry a power bank and purchase a local SIM card (Ncell or NTC) for better connectivity.

Meals & Water

All meals during the trek (breakfast, lunch, dinner) are provided. You can refill water at lodges or buy bottled water (extra cost). We suggest bringing water purification tablets or a filter bottle.

FAQs
  • If there are no direct flights available due to air traffic restrictions or weather conditions, travelers must take a road transfer to Ramechhap (Manthali Airport). Flights to Lukla are then operated from there. We handle all necessary logistics, including shared transfers or private vehicles.

  • We offer early morning shared jeep or private car transfers from your hotel in Kathmandu to Ramechhap. The drive takes around 4–5 hours, and departures usually begin at 2:00–3:00 AM to catch early flights.

  • Ramechhap is approximately 130 kilometers (80 miles) east of Kathmandu. The road journey, although scenic, can be winding and rough in parts.

  • Lukla Airport, known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport, is considered one of the most thrilling airstrips in the world due to its short runway and mountain location. Flights operate only in clear weather, and experienced pilots handle these routes. Safety is always the top priority.

  • You’ll need two main permits:

    • Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit
    • Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit

We take care of all the necessary trekking permits for you before the trip.

  • The two best trekking seasons are:

    • Autumn (late September to November) – clear skies and best mountain views

These months offer the most favorable weather and trail conditions.

  • Yes, altitude sickness can be a concern above 2,500 meters. Our itinerary includes acclimatization days in Namche and Dingboche. Guides are trained in AMS prevention and response, and we carry first-aid kits including Diamox. Emergency evacuation can be arranged if necessary.

  • Yes, we provide free luggage storage at our Kathmandu office or hotel before your trek. You can leave anything you don’t need during the hike.

  • Yes, most teahouses offer hot showers (solar or gas-heated) for an extra cost. Charging electronics is also possible at a small fee, so bringing a power bank is recommended.

  • No prior trekking experience is needed, but good fitness and stamina are essential. The trek involves daily hikes of 5–7 hours and some steep uphill climbs. If you are reasonably fit and mentally prepared, you can complete the trek.

  • Yes, trekking with a licensed guide is mandatory in the Everest region as per new government rules (2023 onward). Our guides are experienced, English-speaking, and trained in first aid and altitude management.
